Maggie (Pippin) Boissy has over two decades of hands-on experience as a holistically trained Geriatric Care & Family Support provider, and become a Certified Nursing Aide in New York State in 2005. She worked for years as a caregiver in two long-term care facilities as well as doing private in-home senior care, before moving to the magnificently beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains 12 years ago and starting The Professional Granddaughter. Which has organically evolved over the year to encompass caregiver support/consulting ,and coaching as well. In 2021 my family & I visited and promptly fell in love with Pickens County, and I’m blessed today to call it our home.
Testimonials
"Pippin has been a blessing to our family, caring for our mom who is suffering from late stage dementia. mom's heritage being a leader in civil rights, church and community activities, instilled in her a strong desire for independence and made care-giving difficult for her to accept. her challenges with dementia created difficulty for us finding the "right" caregiver. we tried a number of quality individuals but all were rejected, until Pippin came into our lives... she is uniquely capable and experienced in caring for individuals like mom. her experience, understanding and instinctive adaptation to ever changing shifts in mom's moods and needs along with her ability to engage our dad in activities changed our lives. her ability to communicate collaboratively with us as caring children has made a huge and positive difference. we wholeheartedly endorse her and we are references for her involvement in caring for your family."

We have been blessed to have Maggie in our lives. She is truly a joy and a gift to this world. Maggie’s compassion and caring shine through her every thought and gesture - as she assists those we care for the most during times we simply cannot. Following my Mother’s stroke, Maggie was able to actively engage her in physical, mental and emotional ways she would have otherwise been incapable of. Through touch, words and actions, she allowed my Mother to feel and become more engaged and independent. She recognized the things in my Mom that make her unique and special, and tailored activities and interactions to those characteristics. Laughter, talking, reading, games, singing, baking, planting, nature, exercise and whatever other interests developed. She pursues it all for those she cares for...with a clear and true head, heart and spirit. And it is reflected in the gratitude and joy coming back to her. Maggie’s kindness, judgment, responsibility and communication skills could not have been more needed and appreciated. Our family hopes that you are fortunate to have Maggie in your and your loved one’s lives. She made all the difference in the world to us and we will forever consider her a treasured part of our family.

“Pippin has been the best thing that could have happened to my mom and I. My mom's memory is bad and she drives me insane at times. Pippin cooks for her, walks the dog, shops, cleans and does so much more always with a smile and a kind word. I can't tell you how blessed we have been for the last year or so to have her be a part of our family.”

”I was really dragging my feet on finding a part time caretaker for my mom, because I couldn't imagine that she'd allow anyone who wasn't family into her life. Like a lot of people with dementia, she was losing her independence, but unable to accept that she needed help. A friend recommended Maggie to us, and I am so, so thankful every single day for that recommendation.
Twice a week, She takes my mom out and about and helps her enjoy her life. They take long walks, go grocery shopping, visit galleries and shops, and even attend an occasional movie. My mom loves getting out, I love having a break, and most importantly, I have total peace of mind knowing my mom's with someone who truly cares about her. Maggie is a rare person--she's compassionate, kind, funny, positive and she truly respects the people she works with. She's a blessing and she's helped make a difficult situation easier, for which I'll always be grateful.”

"It is with great pleasure that I recommend Maggie. Her sweet spirit, soothing voice, and kind heart were a pleasure to have helping me with my mother who has stage 6 Alzheimer's disease. Maggie displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and ambition. She is definitely a leader rather than a follower. In addition to her excellent companionship, she has proven her ability to follow my instructions, preparing meals, and providing light housekeeping. Her good judgment and positive outlook ensure a logical and practical approach to her endeavors. She will be an asset to any seeking a caregiver and I am happy to give her my wholehearted endorsement."
